Minor Oral Surgery

The Dental Room has the facilities of Dr Chandrasekhar, an Oral Surgeon who is available to provide surgery and consultations at the practice. Patients are seen on a referral basis only from either a Doctor or Dental Surgeon. Appointments are usually in the early evening by arrangement.

Following a referral letter or in-house referral the patient is seen for a consultation. At this appointment treatment options and costs will be discussed. Your treatment may include some minor oral surgery under local anesthesia.
Should sedation also be required the practice has a Consultant Anesthetist who will provide this facility at the surgery.

Treatments available:

- Surgical Extractions of roots and impacted teeth.
- Apical Surgery of teeth.
- Soft Tissue Procedures – mucosal biopsy, skin lesion, gingival surgery.
- Oral Medicine and pain Consultations.

After treatment, you will usually have a review appointment to check that everything is healing well. If all is well you will be discharged and a discharge letter will be forwarded to your referring Doctor or Dental Surgeon.

As it is the policy of the Dental Room to provide only the treatment requested by the referring Doctor or Dental Surgeon, you will be referred back to your own Doctor or Dental Surgeon on completion of any oral surgery at the practice.

Should you decide after that, that you wish to have your dental treatment at the practice, we ask that you inform your previous dental surgeon first and only after any oral surgery has been completed by the practice.

For any referring practitioner, we would ask for any appropriate and available radiographs be provided for the consultation. The practice does have a digital OPG machine. A charge will be made to the patient for any radiographs taken at the practice.

Dr Chandrasekhar is currently not registered to provide oral surgery treatment under any of the medical insurance schemes and as such he will only be able to treat patients on a private basis.
